BPS Kab.Bekasi Held Training of Tile Survey Officers and Briefing of Sampling Officers for the 2022

CIKARANG PUSAT, BPS KAB.BEKASI -- Bekasi Regency Central Statistics Agency (BPS) held training activities for tile survey officers and briefing for Area Sample Framework (KSA) officers for two days at Swiss-Belinn Hotel Jababeka Cikarang Utara, starting today Wednesday 13 July 2022.

Functional Statistician Associate Expert Irwanto said the tile survey was aimed at obtaining food crop productivity data needed in calculating food crop production figures. The ASF method is applied as an effort to obtain data for more accurate, objective, and real-time estimates of rice and secondary crops harvested area.

"We all know that the agricultural sector is the main sector that plays an important role in the economy, especially in absorbing labor, a source of economic growth, and a contributor to foreign exchange. In addition, the agricultural sector also drives other sectors in the economy, such as the transportation, trade, and manufacturing industries," he said.

Starting from these conditions, attention to the availability of complete, accurate, and up-to-date agricultural sector data (especially food crops) is needed as a reference for the government and stakeholders in planning and policy formulation.

Irwanto explained that in the KSA Survey whose methodology has been tested and recognized by various parties, BPS cooperates and collaborates with Ministries/Institutions such as the Ministry of Agriculture, BPPT, BIG, Lapan, and ATR/BPN, where the data produced is more objective, uses up-to-date technology, is transparent. and up to date.

"The expected result of this training activity is the availability of reliable and competent officers in carrying out tasks in the field in the Tile and KSA Survey activities so that field implementation can run according to SOPs set by BPS and produce quality output," he said.

"Yes, in addition to understanding this material, participants are also taught how to use tile tools correctly and their application," he explained.

Irwanto said that this training is not only theoretical but there is field practice to apply the knowledge he has gained.

"Yes, in the afternoon the participants will go to the field (rice field) to practice in Karanghappi District," he said.

He hopes that the implementation of this training can improve the quality of data and also the implementation of data collection applications for food crops, especially the Tile Survey for rice and secondary crops based in KSA.
